Gare du Nord provides a haven of calm and Bobbi is confirming it at the station traveling to the Netherlands by train.

Early Arrival at Gare Du Nord Leads to Relaxed Breakfast at Terminus Nord

Thanks to Tim, who dropped us off 1 1/2 hours ahead of schedule, we arrived at Gare Du Nord without having to walk to the station. Our early arrival allowed us to enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Terminus Nord. To our surprise, the atmosphere was calm and relaxed, with no rush or crowds, making for a truly pleasant experience.
Bobbi is traveling to the Netherlands to visit Oma (her grandma) and I walked back home after the train took off.

General Strike Brings France to a Standstill on January 31st, 2023

The French people are taking to the streets on January 31st, 2023, for a nationwide general strike. The strike is being held to protest against the government's latest proposed reforms to the country's pension system.

The proposed reforms have caused widespread outrage among the French people, as they would require people to work longer hours for the same retirement benefits. This has led to widespread protests and strikes across the country, with workers from various industries, including transportation, healthcare, and education, taking part.

The strike is bringing the country to a standstill, with trains and buses coming to a halt, schools and universities closing, and many businesses shutting their doors. The streets of Paris and other major cities are filled with protesters, who are marching in support of their rights and demanding that the government withdraw its proposed reforms.

The general strike is a significant moment in French history, as it demonstrates the power of collective action and the determination of the French people to protect their rights. It remains to be seen how the government will respond to the demands of the strikers, but one thing is certain: the voice of the French people will not be silenced.
